A clinical study of Cerebral Palsy in Korea

Abstract
|
|
|
A clinical analysis was done on 108 patients who was admitted and treated at Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Sam Yook rehabilitation center.
We analyzed the patients in the sight of types, etiology, deformity, spastic mucles and the severity of cerebral palsy patients.
The following results were obtained:
1. Of the 108 C.P. patients, spastic type was 65.7%, motion disorder was 19.4%, mixed type was 14.800.
2. The etiological factor was prematurity (24.8%6), anoxia (23.3%) , neonatal jaundice (14.4 i ?1o), birth trauma (8.1961) in order. The higher rate of neonatal jaundice and birth traum was characteristic compared with other country´s report.
3. The frequency of spastic muscle in lower extremity was gastrocnemius, hamstring, rectus femoris, iliopsoas and adductor of femur in that order.
4. We tried to evaluate the severity of cerebral palsy objectively. We calculated the motor age/chronological age ratio and we thought it reasonable to determine the severity of cerebral palsy children.
